Malaysian Bar Council Will Hold Women’s Rights Conference on February 24, 2024

KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 9 – The Malaysian Bar Council will be organising a Women Rights Conference this year on February 24.

Organised by the Bar Council’s Women’s Rights Committee, the conference aims to celebrate women lawyers and promote women entrepreneurship, leadership, and economic empowerment in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

The conference is being held in conjunction with International Women’s Day, which falls on March 8 every year, with the theme Unveiling Voices, Breaking the Bridle.

It will take place at the Asian International Arbitation Centre (AIAC) in Bangunan Sulaiman, Kuala Lumpur.

Minister of Women, Family and Community Development, Nancy Shukri will deliver the keynote address.

The opening address will be given by Karima El Korri,United Nations Resident Coordinator for Malaysia, Singapore and Brunei Darussalam.

The conference will feature four panel events on the following topics: Understanding Women’s Rights, Breaking Glass Ceilings, Women in Business and Technology for Empowerment.
