Noraini New Deputy Minister Of Women, Family And Community Development

Noraini Ahmad is the new Women, Family and Community Development Deputy Minister, replacing Aiman Athirah who was transferred to the Local Government Development Ministry as deputy minister. Nancy Shukri remains KPWKM Minister in the Cabinet reshuffle.

KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 12 – Wanita Umno leader and former minister Noraini Ahmad was today appointed Women, Family and Community Development Deputy Minister in a reshuffle of Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim’s Cabinet.

She replaced Aiman Athirah Sabu, who will now assume the role of Local Government Development Deputy Minister.

Nancy Shukri remains as Women, Family and Community Development Minister.

Noraini previously served as Minister of Higher Education under the Perikatan Nasional administration led by Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin from March 2020 to August 2021, and subsequently assumed the same role under Ismail Sabri Yaakob’s government from August 2021 to November 2022.

Prior to that, she was the chairwoman of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) under the Pakatan Harapan (PH) administration from April 2019, until her ministerial appointment in March 2020.

The Wanita Umno leader holds the distinction of being the first PAC chairwoman in Malaysia.
