KLANG, Feb 19 – Sri Kota Specialist Medical Centre (SKSMC) has reaffirmed its commitment to community welfare by donating 33 patient beds to two local charitable organisations based in Klang, namely Persatuan Rumah Kebajikan Rita, a welfare home, and Persatuan Kebajikan Bakul Makanan, a non-governmental organisation.

The donation ensures that residents of the welfare home, as well as individuals supported by the NGO, receive the care and comfort they deserve, addressing a critical need for quality medical support in community-based care settings.

This initiative is part of SKSMC’s broader corporate social responsibility programme, reflecting its commitment to serving the community beyond the hospital.

“At SKSMC, we believe that quality health care should extend beyond the hospital. By donating these patient beds, we aim to improve the comfort and wellbeing of those in need,” said Tan Suet Gan, Hospital Director of SKSMC.

“This donation is part of our ongoing commitment to fostering a culture of compassion and social responsibility.

“Through supporting welfare homes like Persatuan Rumah Kebajikan Rita and NGOs like Persatuan Kebajikan Bakul Makanan, we continue to contribute to the betterment of our communities, ensuring that everyone has access to the care they deserve.

“We hope this initiative brings us closer to a future where every individual can experience dignity, comfort, and access to the health care they need.

“We also encourage corporate and community partnerships to support both welfare homes and NGOs in improving their health care facilities and services.

“Together, we can make a meaningful difference in the lives of vulnerable individuals in our community,” she added.

Both Persatuan Rumah Kebajikan Rita and Persatuan Kebajikan Bakul Makanan play essential roles in providing shelter and care for the underprivileged, particularly the elderly, disabled individuals, and those requiring long-term medical support.

The donation of these 33 patient beds will significantly improve the quality of care provided to their residents.

“Many of our residents are elderly and require specialised medical attention. These beds will greatly enhance their comfort and allow us to provide better care.

“We are deeply grateful to SKSMC for their generosity and support,” said Malaimaran Letchumanan, Vice President of Persatuan Rumah Kebajikan Rita.

“Receiving these patient beds is a tremendous help to us. It enables us to accommodate more individuals who need proper medical support, ensuring they live in dignity and receive the care they deserve.

“We thank SKSMC for their kindness and commitment to improving the lives of those in need,” said Chew Song Kong, Founder and President of Persatuan Kebajikan Bakul Makanan.
